 Grotesque Mommies rare collectible (See Scott Jones bio for details) Several hardy souls braved the rain to attend an end-of-the-year get-together on December 30th at the Cloverleaf Tavern. Those attending included Kathy Scott Willard, Julie Salatino Nicholson, Terry Estvold, Joe Sinnitt, Pete Brady, Tom Clough, Doug Baker, and Marc Blau.
Highlighting the tour was the appearance of principal Gil Nelson, looking dapper in his mid-80's and willing to regal us with a few stories. Using her effective teaching skills, Kathy "Kat" (Scott) Willard was reasonably successful in keeping the tour flowing in the right direction. Peering into the library was not one of the highlights. Leaving the school and heading to Harmon's Brewing Company WAS one of the highlights. As we were leaving, principal Nelson discovered that everyone was headed downtown for food and drinks and promptly decided to join us. Ok, think about it....when was the last time YOU had a beer with your junior high principal. Gil stayed for two hours, talked to just about everyone, and left smiling as a raffle winner of 20,000 Alaska Air miles courtesy of Dennis Whalen. Photos are attached for your enjoyment and we are hopeful that classmates who were present will send more photos for us to share. The good news is that we decided that a 40th class reunion is a must and so in the summer of 2006 we will meet again for all of those unable to join us this first time around.
